12 teams. Four games guaranteed. One unforgettable weekend of 12U AA and A baseball in Markham, Ontario.
The Markham Baseball Classic brings competitive 12U AA and A baseball teams together for a weekend built around great competition, community, and the love of the game.
From the first pitch to Championship Sunday, this is where teams come to compete — and families come to be part of something special.
Twelve teams. Three pools of four. Two pool games Friday, one pool game Saturday morning, and a quarterfinal or placement game Saturday afternoon or evening. The final four return Sunday.
Three pools of four teams. Each team plays all three opponents in its pool once.
The top two teams in each pool plus the two highest-ranked remaining teams advance. Pool winners are seeded 1–3.
Fixed quarterfinals: 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5. Winners advance through the semifinals to the final.
Non-qualifiers play Saturday placement games: 9 vs 12 and 10 vs 11. Every team receives a fourth game, weather permitting.
Pool winners occupy seeds 1–3 and are ranked against one another. The other five qualifiers are ranked into seeds 4–8. The bracket stays fixed, including any pool-play rematches; teams are not swapped or reseeded. Detailed ranking and tiebreak rules will be published in the tournament package. Game guarantees remain subject to the published weather and cancellation policy.
Our tentative July 16–18 schedule: pool play on Friday and Saturday morning, with playoffs and placement games starting Saturday afternoon. Semifinals and the final take place Sunday. Choose a day to see the planned matchups and time blocks.
| Time block | Diamond 1 | Diamond 2 | Diamond 3 |
|---|
The top two from each pool plus two wild cards advance. Pool winners receive seeds 1–3; the remaining qualifiers receive seeds 4–8.
Fixed bracket: no swaps to avoid rematches and no reseeding between rounds. Teams outside the playoffs play placement games for their fourth game; those results do not change championship qualification.
After Saturday morning pool play, the four non-qualifying teams are ranked 9–12 and play one additional game Saturday afternoon or evening for placement and seeding purposes.
These games complete the four-game guarantee and do not provide a route back into the championship bracket. Final placement calculations will be set out in the tournament package.
